This Server is part of the Freifunk-Trier-Net. As such it has a local IPv4 and a global IPv6. From within the Freifunk-Trier-Net http://10.172.0.18 delivers you the IPv4 while http://[2001:bf7:fc0f:0::18] will deliver its global IPv6. Use this tool to examine a device in our Freifunk-Trier-Net, which will get a local IPv4 and a global IPv6 (if your device supports IPv6) via DHCP. It's hard to find out the address of your device as our Net is 10.172.0.0/16 and the global IPv6 is calculated with a prefix and a MAC, you both might not know. To make it easy, to find your device in our net this tool stores the IP together with a timetamp and unique name (or -key- if you like) you provide. Simply make your device call a wget or curl to this tool at startup, and after this call you will be able to discover the stored IP by just call an other Link from any other computer and browser. On your device you call: To store its IPv4: wget -qO - "http://10.172.0.18/ip?s&p=myPassword&key=Peter_Pan" to store its IPv6: wget -qO - "http://[2001:bf7:fc0f:0::18]/ip?s&p=myPassword&key=Polly_Pocket" Now you get the device-IPs of your device by just calling: http://tackin.de/ip?key=Peter_Pan http://tackin.de/ip?key=Polly_Pocket in any browser. The browser-output is the IP of your device. (B.t.w. : Please make sure to use your own single name for every device instead of the "Peter_Pan" or "Polly_Pocket"!) Be aware, that IPv4- and IPv6-support on this local IP-URLs are only possible WITHIN OUR FREIFUNK-NET. For use outside the Freifunk-Net please use my global IPv6 (2a01:4f8:1c1c:7184::1) or my global IPv4 (159.69.151.130) The parameters: Variables: key the name of your device. No matter what value but must be unique. A seconde call with that key will cause the old IP-address and timestamp to be overwritten. r explicit sets redirect-Port if other than Port=80 i.e. http://tackin.de/ip?key=Peter_Pan&r=8080 redirects to http://xyz:8080/ p password, optional. Will set a password for this key. If password is given, a key will only be updated if the right password for this key is submitted. Switches: s Tells the tool to save the caller IP with the current timestamp to the key. A Link-call without "s" causes the search for the key in my DB to retrive its stored IP. r Will produce a "redirect-link" which will take your browser directly to the stored device-IP. (Only meaningful in retrive-mode and when your device has a web-deamon listing on Port 80 or any other given as var r) As you see, no registration is required to use the service. Unused or older keys might be automatically deleted after some time with a cleanup. Have fun!
